The first official screening of Youth Work Ireland‘s short film ‘Waiting, Waiting, Waiting – Growing Up in Direct Provision’ was held on Wednesday 24th August at the Irish Film Institute (IFI).
This film features young people from County Longford Youth Service, CDYS Youth Work Ireland and Limerick Youth Service who are living, or have lived in Direct Provision and gives voice to their experiences, hopes and desire for an equal chance to grow up with dignity and freedom.
The film was made with the support of the Irish Human Rights & Equality Commission and launched by Pamela Uba and Minister of State Joe O’Brien TD for Dublin Fingal.
