The rate of aid for private promoters under the Rural Development Programme has increased from 50% to 75% since 26th April, 2012. If you have an idea for a business/project within County Longford or you would like to develop an existing business you may be eligible for grant aid. If farming is no longer an adequate source of income and you have an innovative initiative in mind for your land/farm buildings you may be eligible for funding under the RDP. If you or your local community group would like to develop your local area/village or you have you an environmental initiative in mind you or your group may be eligible for RDP grant assistance!!
RDP Grant aid is available under 7 measures:
- Diversification into non-agricultural activities
- Business Creation & Development
- Encouragement of Tourism Activities
- Basic Services for the Economy and Rural Population
- Village Renewal & Development
- Conservation & Upgrading of the Rural Heritage
- Training & Information
